Hi. I've completed the English translation of my Italian website a few months ago. I recently realized that, even though I did not change the original Italian pages, a lot of pages have the "refresh icon" on the English language, which usually means "you are missing some translations". In fact, if I open the English translation WPML page, I do see some empty boxes (see ERROR 1 screenshot). But it is not true, as the English translation of that sentence that I made in the past is still there in the "live" web page (see ERROR 2 screenshot). Why this? Thanks! |

Hi Angelo, Did you switch the translation editor from the Classic to the advanced editor that appears in your screenshot? If yes, then this is expected. If this is not the case, I suggest running the WPML troubleshooting options then completing the translation and checking if the issue is resolved. Please go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page, and click the following (After creating a full backup): - Clear the Cache in WPML Then complete the translation and check if the issue persists. Let me know please how that goes. Kind regards, |

Thanks Mohamed. No, I've never switched editor... I did all the troubleshooting steps you suggested, but the pages are still there (see the screenshot). I need to open them one by one (> than 40) and complete again translations that are still perfectly visible in the production page. If there is no other way to fix it, I will start doing the annoying job of opening them one by one and re-doing the translation... Thanks for your help! |

I'm afraid that you'll have to update those translations one by one, or to bulk update them using automatic translation (https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/#translating-individual-pages-posts-and-other-content-automatically) If the issue happens again after updating those translations, kindly create a copy of your site and provide a link to download it. You can use the Duplicator plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/) or the All-in-One WP Migration plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/). The plugin will create a package file that you can download then upload again to Google Drive or Dropbox and share the download link in the next reply which I have marked as private. Then I will import the site copy to debug the issue locally and escalate it to our developers for further investigation if needed. Please check here for more details: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/ |

Thanks Mohamed. I've edited them all, too bad we've been able to discover the issue that caused it, I hope it won't happen again in the future... crossing fingers 🙂 Thanks for your help! |
