This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is unable to update WPML on their site and encounters a 'Connection failed!' error with a detailed cURL error 28, indicating a failure to connect to api.wpml.org.
Solution:
We recommend checking the WPML > Support > Installer support page for any red X-ses. If present, contact your hosting provider to ensure the following domains are not blocked:
- wpml.org
- cdn.wpml.org
- api.wpml.org
- api.toolset.com
- cloudfront.net
Additionally, refer to our documentation on cURL error 28 for further troubleshooting: https://wpml.org/faq/wpml-plugin-cannot-connect-to-wpml-org/
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. We highly recommend opening a new support ticket for personalized assistance. Visit our support forum here: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
