Problem:
The client is unable to update WPML on their site and encounters a 'Connection failed!' error with a detailed cURL error 28, indicating a failure to connect to api.wpml.org.
Solution:
We recommend checking the WPML > Support > Installer support page for any red X-ses. If present, contact your hosting provider to ensure the following domains are not blocked:
- wpml.org
- cdn.wpml.org
- api.wpml.org
- api.toolset.com
- cloudfront.net

Background of the issue:
I am trying to update WPML on my site hidden link. I was advised to install OTGS Installer, which I did, but it still did not work. I also whitelisted a few URLs associated with WPML.

Symptoms:
WPML refuses to update and install. Shoes message: Connection failed! Please refresh the page and try again. (Connection error: Unable to get data from service. Detailed error: cURL error 28: Failed to connect to api.wpml.org port 443 after 9377 ms: Couldn't connect to server)

Questions:
What should I do to successfully update WPML?

Hi there.

On WPML > Support > Installer support > can you please let me know if you see two green check icons at the top? Or are there any red X-ses instead of the green check icons?

If there are any red X-ses, can you please get in touch with your hosting provider making sure that these domains are not blocked?
