Overview of the issue
You may encounter an issue when accessing the Automatic Translation Tab when the WP External Links plugin is active. This conflict prevents the tab from loading properly, displaying the following error in the console:
There was a problem connecting to the automatic translation. Please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes. If you continue to see this message, please contact our support team .
Workaround
- Go to your Dashboard > WP External Links page.
- Open the Exceptions tab.
- In the Apply settings section:
- Uncheck the All content (the whole page) checkbox.
- Check: Post/Pages and Comments options.
I uninstalled the external-link plugin and it worked. However, even though the information is now visible under the WPML > translation management > Tool, I don’t find an option to make a payment for current $100 spend. Please help with that.
In order to pay prepaid credits, you need to access to your WPML account. Please follow these links:

And keep in mind that you cannot add prepaid credits to sites that use pay-as-you-go.
