Background of the issue:
I have added the currency switcher to my WooCommerce site using WPML. The geolocation feature is enabled.

Symptoms:
When I change between currencies, it doesn't change the currency of the products shown. The only way to change the currency is by going to the checkout page and changing the billing/shipping country.

Questions:
Can you please help me to have the currency switcher to work properly?

Hi there,

Does the currency remain relevant to your location ?

As a test, please deactivate Geolocation temporarily and try again, does it work as expected now?

My theory is that geolocation is overwriting your choice based on your location

Hi,

I have tested what you suggested and it didn't work. Our current setting in WPML is:

- Show currencies based on: Client Location

In Woocommerce > Settings, the current setting is:

- Default customer location: Geolocate

To test what you have suggested, I have changed the following:

- Default customer location: No location by default

I then cleared the cache and tried to change the currency on multiple pages and also using a VPN, but it doesn't work.

Another issue I observed: the main currency of our site is the USD, but when someone visit from Canada it often doesn't show the site in CAD on the first page load. When the visitor goes to a second page, then the currency is changed to CAD automatically, but not on the first page.

I think this ticket is public, so I won't share credentials here. But if you want, I can send you the credentials somewhere secure so you can test by yourself.
Thanks

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

I am located in the US --> the currency I am shown is USD.

Switching to CA$ does not work for me, because my location is configured to show only USD

IF I switch the currency switcher from Client Location to Site Language then it allows me to switch the currency.

I can confirm that this is expected behavior when using geolocation as the CA$ is excluded from my location.

CAN$ is configured to show in Canada and USD is configured to show in all countries except Canada.
