[Escalated to 2nd Tier] translation is not responsive
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Background of the issue:
I'm trying to make the mobile version of the website match the design of the English mobile version. The issue can be seen at hidden link.
Symptoms:
The mobile site is displaying the desktop version instead of the mobile version. The layout appears zoomed out, as if it's still the desktop version but viewed on a mobile device.
Questions:
Why is the mobile version displaying the desktop layout after translation?
How can I ensure the mobile-responsive layout is applied to the translated version?
Thanks for contacting us. I can see the issue with the mobile version of the translated page here hidden link .
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your reply. The issue is still there even after copying the contents from the English language here hidden link
I kindly ask for a snapshot of the site. Alternatively, with your permission, I can create one myself. For this purpose, I typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you're already familiar with Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.
To guide you further, please adhere to these instructions:
1. View the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link
3. If the archive file exceeds 400MB, please use Duplicator's file filters to exclude cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.
Once you have the archive file ready, kindly share the link with us. You can utilize platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar for file sharing, as the snapshot file might be large.
Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the file link there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.
Thanks for your reply. Could you upload the duplicator "backup" file here hidden link and share it with me? I can't seem to download it as shown in the attached screenshot. You can upload it to Google Drive and share the link with me. In the meantime, I will check your files to see if it works on my dev site.
Thank you for your patience. Given the complexity of the issue, I'll need a bit more time to work on it. If I'm unable to resolve it, I'll escalate the matter to our second-tier support team. They will conduct thorough troubleshooting to address the issue.
Thanks for your patience. I will have to escalate this further to our 2nd Tier Support for further assistance. I will come back to you once I've feedback.
Thank you for your response. We're actually making progress on our end. We tested the layout on our sandbox site hidden link , and the responsive layout works fine in both languages.
It seems that the issue is isolated to your side for some reason, and we are currently checking the database to identify any misconfigurations in your translated Arabic language layouts.
Yeah, I'm not sure why, but on my end, it shows the desktop translation for mobile devices. I have no settings or configuration options on my end to fix the responsiveness of the WPML translation. Hopefully, it's an issue in the database, and you’re able to identify it so we can resolve this problem.
