Background of the issue:
I have just added the WPML plugin and wanted to start the setup. I have entered the Site Key already. The issue can be seen at this link: hidden link.
I have tried disabling the ad blocker and clearing the cache.
Symptoms:
When I try to set up the plugin, I get a blank page with just the header: WPML Setup.
Questions:
Why is the setup page showing as blank after entering the Site Key?
How can I complete the WPML setup without encountering a blank page?
I would it somewhere else, renamed it, setup launched, but during the setup my website fronend and backend crashed with 503 error. Here are the screenshots. Now it is not done with the setup and I am not sure what to do, on the website I see bugs like in the third screenshot.
It also made my checkout from classic to blocks, which conflicted my plugins, I am not sure what to do now, I need to fix this ASAP as this project is online with the ads running.
The setup should be much easier than this, I definetely understand how that can be frustrating. Please note that at the moment this seems to be an edge case unfortunately and not the expected behavior.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.
NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
Thank you, I am trying now, first thing before the setup I noticed there are there issues. The main thing why I purchased this plugin is that I want to have languages under different domains in the same backend. I have tried setting it up here but it says The domain you have entered is invalid. I have tried both with hidden link, hidden link, and without. I have set up the domains already in Hostinger.
For the purposes of activating the plugin, let's go ahead and select the "different languages in directories" option.
Once activated, go to WPML->Languages and from there change to "A different domain per language", and add it there.
In that screen you will see a checkbox to "validate" the domain.
Please leave that "unchecked", and save your domains.
Once done, visit the front end and let me know your results are you able to switch between languages OK? (Make sure to translate the homepage or a test page in order to properly test this.)
NOTE: Validation can many times fail, but it is not needed for WPML to work with different domains per language.
Thanks for the explanation, I have followed the steps, now I see that in the footer there is a language selector, without icons, also the German version once clicked redirects to not working page.
