I have successfully translated all the website in 4 languages, except the homepage that does not translate to Italian. It is stuck on the translation queue and never goes.
I have tried the solutions here to clear WPML cache and other troubleshooting options you suggest already but still does not work. This page is not translated, everything else works and in the other languages this page is translated just fine.
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps and try to help with the issue quickly.
If you use Translate Everything Automatically mode, you can simply edit your stuck pages by making a minor change, such as adding a space or a word. This will reset the pages’ translation status and assign them a new Job ID for automatic translation.
If not, then temporarily switch to Translate What You Choose mode, go to WPML → Translation Management and click the Jobs tab. Cancel the stuck jobs. Switch back the mode Then, edit the page or post that was stuck and make a small change to the title. Save the change.
I've done what you suggested and it cleared the queue, but then when trying to translate the same page again it gets stuck, back in the queue again, not progressing.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
Upon inspection, it seems that there's an element causing an error with the ATE translation editor.
When attempting to access translations for the homepage, none of them open. However, translations for other pages function correctly.
I've created a duplicate of the homepage for further investigation. Upon removal of the identified "hidden" element and updating, translations open successfully. (refer to the screenshot)
Please give this a try and inform me of the outcome.
It's still not working properly. I feel like all languages are stuck now.
And the copy you've done of the homepage, one is all broken and the other one you've removed a good chunk of content from the bottom, so I can't use those.
Can you please assist in how to translate the homepage in all the 3 languages...?

Removing the above XML allowed me to resolve the issue with the following steps.
1. Removed the custom XML configuration
2. Duplicated the homepage
3. Added the translations
