This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing issues where fully translated text is not appearing on the front end of your website after migration from a staging to a production site. Additionally, links in the Advanced Translation Editor still point to the staging site, despite having completed translations.
Solution:
If you find that the Translation Management is blocked or not functioning correctly on your production site, we recommend the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML → Support.
2. Click on the Troubleshooting link.
3. On the Troubleshooting page, click the button labeled Force-enable WPML’s Advanced Translation Editor.
This action should help resolve the issue with the translation editor and ensure that your translations display correctly on the front end.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If necessary, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hello, I am not sure how to determine if the translation editor is working properly on our site. We run into issues like the one in this thread, and create support tickets for them. I am not sure what other things we may find.

It would help if the support response could consider and let us know that the 'copied' sites have settings and controls that a live site would not have. It would help us to understand what we need to do to fix the live site, where of course, the problem eventually needs to be fixed.

That control appears when Translation Management was not enabled if it doesn´t appear on your production site it means that it is enabled.

If the translation editor is not working properly on your production site, Could you please give me access to it?

That way I can debug the problem directly.

Hello, we can not give access to our production site for security purposes.

How can we know if the translation editor is not working properly in the general sense? But we did confirm that the previously-provided instructions worked.

However, we are not sure if it is a long-term fix. Those instructions came with additional instructions to use a control that does not appear on our live site. We are now wondering why we don't see that control.

And, if we have not used that control, is the solution provided a long-term fix? Will it prevent the issue from happening again, whether or not we move our site?

How can we disable translation management on the live site, where the control setting does not appear?

Thank you

Hi there!

If that control doesn’t appear on your production site, it means everything is working correctly. You only see it on a moved or staging site when there’s an issue during the migration.

To verify, please edit one of your pages on production, click “Update”, and then update the translation. Let me know if the page shows up translated correctly.

Yes, as we had confirmed earlier in this thread, that did work.
