Background of the issue:
We are trying to build a multi-country and multi-lingual website with a target of 47 languages. We have managed to create 27 different variations, but beyond that, we encounter issues with Menu Sync.

Symptoms:
We are always getting 504 errors when attempting Menu Sync beyond 27 language variations. We have tried increasing execution time and memory, but it is not working.

Questions:
Can you please help on this urgently?

Hello,

This sounds as if the server can not handle this task.

Is it correct that the database is running on MySQL MySQLVersion 5.7.12?

Best regards
Andreas

This is the lowest possible version you could use and this version was released in 2016.

I would suggest updating MySQL to a newer version, like 8.0 or higher, as these versions will enahnce the performance of the website.

Fuerther, please check the php.ini file for execution time and timeput limits and make sure to try values similar to:

request_terminate_timeout = 600s
max_execution_time = 600

If this will still not solve the issue, I suggest installing a plugin like "Query Monitor", then check for slow queries and verify if those queries are WPML-related.

I can further offer to create a local copy of the site and test it on a virtual server, if you agree?
