Hello WPML team,
Question 1: our WordPress+WooCommerce website's historical data CMS page and woocommerce products are both in English. However, when we transferred to this domain, we wanted to use German as our default language. How should I set up this translation plugin?
Question 2: If I initially chose Language name added as a parameter, can I change it to A different domain per language at any time in the future?
Question 3: Can we choose to exclude fields that are not translated if we do not need to translate the "product name" of the WooCommerce product during the automatic translation process?
Thank you for reaching out. Allow me to address your inquiries accordingly.
Question 1: our WordPress+WooCommerce website's historical data CMS page and woocommerce products are both in English. However, when we transferred to this domain, we wanted to use German as our default language. How should I set up this translation plugin?
Answer 1: My recommendation is to begin by translating the English language products into German, and then proceed to switch the default language to German.
Question 2: If I initially chose Language name added as a parameter, can I change it to A different domain per language at any time in the future?
Answer 2: Absolutely, you can make this change in the future. However, I advise sticking with "Different languages in directories" for better SEO outcomes.
Question 3: Can we choose to exclude fields that are not translated if we do not need to translate the "product name" of the WooCommerce product during the automatic translation process?
Answer 3: Automatic Translations cover all fields, including the product name. Excluding specific fields from automatic translation isn't feasible. Nonetheless, you can manually review and adjust each translation as required, restoring them to their original state if necessary.
