We have a post object field in a flexible layout that's supposed to point to a custom post of post type 'team' (set to be non-translatable). The field group this field is in is related to pages. For the main language this works well, however the field value in the secondary language/translation is false, no matter what this field translation preference is set to.
I understand that you're having a complex issue involving a post-object field within a flexible layout of ACF. But, sorry to say, the issue you're having is not entirely clear to me.
To better understand and assist you with this issue, could you please provide a video that demonstrates the steps you're taking? This would greatly help in visualizing the problem you're facing, especially how the field value behaves in the secondary language. A visual walkthrough of the issue will enable me to offer more targeted and effective support.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to assisting you further upon reviewing the video.
I feel a video might expose private information as we're dealing with people's names here. I can however provide you with WP/FTP login credentials and detailed steps to replicate the issue?
Update: I forgot to mention the team post type previously was set to translate, and later to be non-translatable. The translations that then showed up as duplicates had been deleted.
However in icl_translations I still see rows refering to the translations, which obviously no longer exist. Can I delete these rows from icl_translations as the post type is no longer translatable?
I can understand and respect privacy. If you want, you can capture the video and share the video through our private fields along with access to your site. In this way, only the supporters and you will have access to the information. No other person can see the information. If you're sharing the access information, it would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
In response to the query regarding deleting the entries from the icl_translations table: If the translations are removed, you can delete the data from the tables. You can also go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and click on the "Remove ghost entries from the translation tables" button to remove the data from the table that are not linked.
Best Regards,
Prosenjit
