I want to change authors in some posts that are already translated. When I changed an author in the original English version, this change did not apply to the translations of this post. Does this mean I have to change authors in all posts and all languages manually? Is there any way to apply this change to all translations automatically?
Thank you for contacting the support forum.
Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.
That is correct, you need to assign the author to each post and its translation. This is because WPML stores the translation as a new post and each post entry has its author column.
But there is a workaround that can make the job easy for you. Please follow these steps:-
1. Go to posts listing
2. Select All languages from the top admin bar language switcher.
3. Now you will see all posts including the translation. Select posts and translations that you want to change the author.
4. From Bulk Actions choose Edit and apply
5. Change the author and update.
I hope it helps.
Thanks
