We cleared the Wprocket and Object Cache sometimes and used the "Translate Link Targets" by pressing the button at “Scan now and adjust links” sometimes. So that could have triggered it perhaps.
Why did this happened and how can we prevent this?
The Object Cache we use was already off so that shouldn't be the problem.
I followed your steps regarding the WPML Troubleshooting.
I notice I still see some English attributes in the general attributes list on the attributes page in wp-admin (“Mounting”, “Remaining” and “Replacement Parts”). So it did not solve that problem, or does Troubleshooting prevent something like this from happening in the future?
I notice that a duplicated attribute in the filter "Filter within accessories" on the page hidden link was indeed gone, so I think it worked for that, but it still shows a duplicate attribute (Accessories) at the filter "Product category".
Please make a full backup of your site (files and database) and confirm it in your next reply.
If possible please provide access to the staging website, not production.
Please note, that I might need to do some debugging procedures like enable/disable plugins, switch themes, change the default language of the user account, and/or access your website database to debug the issue furtherly.

I suggest you create a new user, set it as an administrator and then add those credentials in the private fields mentioned.
You can safely add your information into these fields.
My client decided to remove the wrong product attributes and check if the correct situation (the correct attributes) will stay for the time to come. If there are sudden attributes popping up in the future that are not correct we will contact WPML again, okay?
