Hello WPML Support Team,
I hope you’re doing well.
I’m currently auditing my website’s database for performance optimization, specifically reviewing autoloaded entries in the wp_options table to reduce memory usage on each request.
I noticed that several WPML-related options are set to autoload, including items such as:
• icl_sitepress_settings
• WPML(TM)
• wpml_shortcode_list
• wpml_update_statuses
• _icl_cache
• wpml_language_switcher
• wpml_language_switcher_template_objects
• wpml-elementor-config-ids-in-widgets
• WooCommerce Multilingual-related settings (e.g., _wcml_settings, currency switcher template options)
Some of these are expected, but I would like your guidance regarding which options are required to remain autoloaded for proper multilingual and WooCommerce functionality, and whether any of them can safely be excluded from autoload to optimize performance.
For context:
• The site is running WooCommerce with WPML.
• Language and currency switchers are used.
• Elementor is used for page building.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards,
