This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with automatic translation after duplicating a website and deactivating two languages. They encountered a connection error when accessing 'Tools' for automatic translation and were unable to translate content from English to Slovenian.
Solution:
1. We asked the client to provide a screenshot of the error message "There is a problem connecting to automatic translation."
2. We recommended deactivating all plugins except for WPML to see if the issue persists.
3. If the problem remained, we instructed the client to navigate to WPML → Support → Advanced Translation Editor > Error Log and send us a screenshot for further analysis.
4. We created a new support ticket specifically for the issue of translating pages from English to Slovenian to assist the client and help others with similar problems.

Please note that the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your case. If you're still experiencing issues, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket with us.

Hi,

I've recently duplicated a website with 3 languages using duplicator.

I deactivated 2 languages (German and Italian) and kept English. Now I want to automatically translate all content to Slovenian.

I've bought a new license as the duplicated site had previous website's key. I've update it with the new key, but features are not working. When I try to access "Tools" it says: There is a problem connecting to automatic translation. Please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes. If you continue to see this message, please contact our support team.

Secondly, when I'm trying to translate pages from English to Slovenian I cannot use automatic translator, it says: You can only automatically translate content from your site's default language (English), to your site's other languages. Deselect content in your site's secondary languages to proceed.

I attached a screenshot of the error.

I'm attaching the debug information tho it might refer to the time before I bought and registered the new license.

Yep I found the problematic plugin, it was Email Enconder. Now this feature works.
