This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client was unable to upgrade the WPML plugin due to a connection issue with wpml.org, which is necessary for checking new releases and security updates. Additionally, the client faced problems registering the WPML plugin with a new key, receiving an error during the process.
Solution:
The client resolved the issue by deleting the existing registration key and creating a new one. After successfully registering with the new key, the client was able to upgrade the WPML plugin.
If you're experiencing similar issues with upgrading the WPML plugin or registering it, we recommend trying the following steps:
1. Ensure that your network and security settings allow outgoing communications to wpml.org.
2. If registration issues persist, try deleting the current key and creating a new one, as this resolved the client's issue.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If these steps do not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket.
