[Resolved] complianz cookie banner shows in second language only
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client needed assistance with displaying the translated version of the Complianz cookie banner on their website. The default language of the site is French, but the English translation was not showing up.
Solution:
1. We recommended clearing the website's cache using the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to ensure that the translated content is not being overridden by cached data.
3. If the strings were not found, we instructed the client to scan the Complianz plugin for strings by going to WPML -> Theme and plugins localization, selecting the Complianz plugin, and clicking "Scan selected plugins for strings".
4. After scanning, the client should return to WPML -> String Translation and use the search filter to find and translate the cookie banner content.
56. We offered to troubleshoot the issue directly by requesting temporary access to the client's website and we located the strings by searching with a portion of the text from the cookie banner and edited the translations for testing purposes, adding "FR" to the beginning of the French version. We reminded the client to clear the cache after finishing the translations.

I translated Complianz cookie banner in english and this is the version it shows in french. Default language of site is french.

If the popup content is translated I would suggest you first clean the website's cache using the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, and check if the issue persists after.
If the issue persists please check if the content of the cookie banner is translated (normally you should find the strings on WPML -> Strings translation).

Yes, in the WPML -> String Translations if you check the strings under the domain Complianz and check for the cookie banner content.
In case it doesn't show up, please follow the steps below:
- Go to WPML -> Theme and plugins localization -> Scan the plugin for strings
- Select checkbox next to "Complianz | GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent"
- Click "Scan selected plugins for strings"
- Go back to WPML -> String Translation
- Use the search filter to find the cookie banner content
- Add the translation
The content needs to be translated in all the languages of your website in order to show up based on the language selected.

Hi. When I did the scan on Complianz plugin for strings, my website got stuck on the spinning wheel. It's doesn't even show in the front end. I get the message : Can not connect to server. What can I do to regain access?
When I do a search for cookie banner content in the strings, WPML doesn't find any string for this. I do find those related to complianz-gdpr plugin itself though.
The blocking/stalling of your website might have been due to a low php script execution time or any security configuration.
Normally the scanning of the Complianz plugins is less than a minute.
If the scanning of the strings was not completed I would suggest you try again, and after the cookie banner content should appear on WPML -> String Translations (as shown in the attached image).

Hi Marsel. I did exactly as you suggested. I checked all the Complianz strings and no strings for the cookie banner are in the list.
With the 7 hours difference of time zones, our conversation is taking days instead of hours. Would it be possible to have support from someone in America?
Would it be possible to provide me with a temporary access on your website so I could check out? That would help troubleshooting faster and resolving the issue.

* After I've checked the website, if the issue persists and will need further troubleshooting I'll check if it will be possible to have someone take over from America time zone.
Thank you for the access, I was able to check and by searching with just a bit of the text I was able to find the strings on WPML -> String Translation (please check attachment, I just copied a few words from the cookie banner and search for it on the strings page).
* I edited the translations for testing and I just added "FR" at the beginning of the french version, please edit them correctly.
If you check the website you should see that now the cookie banner content switches when you switch the website language.
* Important: Given that you are using LiteSpeed Cache plugin, after you've finished the translations, please clear the cache of the website on the front-end.
