Just for your information: Villafliser.dk has been working until monday. That was when I changed the URL address in settings - general til villafliser.dk. Somehow that changed everything - and off course I am anxious about if this will happen again once I change it again, when the danish site has finished.

Hello there,

I went to WPML->Language->Language URL Format and changed the settings to use different domains per language, please check the issue now.

Thanks

Hi,
It is getting better. But there is still a rather serious issue.
Danish page - Admin in WP:
If I go through pages - edit and look at a page in the danish Admin - the page is in Danish but the header is in English (not in Danish as it should be). Meaning, a mix of languages. If I press view, it shows - but now the header is in Danish. - strange !
If I go through appearance - header edit: the header is in English ! although it should be in Danish.
That leaves no place to edit the header in Danish (as I should). The Danish header is "gone" - although it shows on frontend.
Please fix this issue as well.
Thank you.

Hello there,

I would suggest you to use WPML editors to translate the header templates, can you try this method and see if it helps.

More detailed details with video help: https://wpml.org/changelog/2022/01/wpml-4-5-3-compatibility-with-wordpress-5-9-and-full-site-editing/

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Hi,
You are ignoring the problem - as described. Please read again, what I wrote to you.
The translation is there - I do NOT need to translate it. But I need to change the spaces in between etc - as you told me to. The problem is that the Danish header menue does not show correctly. It shows on the frontend - not in the editor or anywhere else. The Danish menue is no where to be found.
That has nothing to do with full site editing.
Please, don´t tell me that it is normal that WPML provides pages that have mixed languages on the pages. That MUST be a mistake, because that is useless to anybody.
You have the codes and everything. Access the Admin and have a look. Then you will see for yourself.
1) if you claim that everything is all right - then tell me where I can find the Danish header - as shown on the frontend. Because it is not where it should be - and not where you claim it to be: in the editor. Please have a look at the image I sent you. As you can see the text is in Danish, but the header menue is in English - although the Danish header menue should be visible exactly here.
The point is: It exists as the Danish header menue shows on the frontend.
2) I am not responsible for the set up of WPML. WPML set the terms - I cannot change them. So I do not understand why you tell me to use something, that WPML is not providing.
The editor menue is completely different as shown in your link. But I have no influence on that. So I think it is meaningless to send me the link for something else. Maybe you forget that I use your theme - called TT4.
Please do not let me hanging here. The header is not working. And it is a big issue, that the Danish header menue, which is in Danish - is not accessible.
Thank you in advance for taking this seriously.

Hi there,

Sorry for the confusion. I thought it was about translations, so I suggested the recommended way to translate the template. It’s not usually suggested to translate or modify the content manually.

I’ve fixed the issue for now, but could you please check it and see if it works?

The problem was:
- The header template was using Header Navigation menus, but the translated header template was using a different menu. I fixed the connection, and now the header shows properly.

Let me know if everything is fixed now. If not, I’d suggest you take a few screenshots so I can quickly check it further.

Looking forward to your reply!

Thanks

Hi,
That is really great. Thanks!

I have myself tried to change a bit back and forth in the header menue - just to make sure it works. It is working.
Still I think there is too much space in between the symbol of "my account" the "shop backet" and the "SoMe symbols. But I have not found a way to change that.
Can you help with that - narrowing the spaces in between these symbols?

I understand, that the duplicated header, somehow had changed connection after my change of the site to show villafliser.dk in stead of handmadetilesbyvilla.com in setting - general: wordpress adress and site adress.
So should I assume that the problem will accur again when I change it again to villafliser.dk in the Danish settings?

Further question: when changing the settings to actually show villafliser.dk (when entering villafliser.dk in url frontend) - should I then change in both WordPress Adress and Site Adress (settings - general in Danish Admin)? Or only one of them - which one in that case?

Please get back to me on these 3 questions. Thank you.

Hello there,

To customize the spacing, you can use custom CSS. Here’s some sample CSS that might help. You can add this CSS to the child theme’s style.css file.

header .wp-block-woocommerce-customer-account {
    margin-right: -30px;
}
somehow had changed connection after my change of the site to show villafliser.dk in stead of handmadetilesbyvilla.com in setting - general: wordpress adress and site adress.

I don’t think you’ll need to change the settings here, but I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to accomplish. Could you please explain why you want to change the settings here?

Further question: when changing the settings to actually show villafliser.dk (when entering villafliser.dk in url frontend) - should I then change in both WordPress Adress and Site Adress (settings - general in Danish Admin)? Or only one of them - which one in that case?

No need to set anything up. If you’re not logged in, it works perfectly fine. For logged-in users, it seems like the redirect is being served from the disk cache. You can try visiting villafliser.dk/?c=1. I also suggest clearing all caches from the site and the server and giving it another try.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hi again,

Again. You should read my questions again and have a look at the settings in the English Admin and the Danish Admin. And you should have a look at the frontend when entering villafliser.dk. Right now I do not think that your questions to me make any sense in the context of the problems - and the settings in my Admin - in Danish and in English.
Nevertheless - I will try to explain again - in another way. Although I do not think that should be necessary.

Ref. your answer 1) I can try that

Ref. your answer/question 2) I do not understand why you question this issue. That is what we have been talking about for 5 days.
The whole problem with the header started as I tested the function to show the site in Danish.
Right now the setting is to show the English page handmadetilesbyvilla.com - when choosing villafliser.dk in the frontend url. That means nobody will see the Danish website - unless they
use the switcher at the bottom.
Off course the Danish page is not meant to stay like that. The whole idea is to show the Danish webpage when choosing the Danish website though entering villafliser.dk - when I am ready to expose it. Not before. I think that should be clear to you.
The reason why, the webpage in Danish villafliser.dk does not show on the frontend - is due to the fact, that the domain handmadetilesbyvilla.com is written in settings - general - wordpress url and site url - in the Danish Admin. As long as the English domain handmadetilesbyvilla.com remains there - people in Denmark will not see the Danish webpage - but the English webpage. Have a look for yourself!
That is why I have to change it to villafliser.dk - when I am ready to show the Danish webpage to the Danish clients.
So my question again: Should I expect a problem again, when I change the domain to Villafliser.dk - in order for the Danish clients to see the Danish webpage?
A header/logo/DNS/coding problem as we have been working on for the last 5 days.

Ref your answer/question 3) I don´t understand what you are writing here. Off course I need to change the settings. There is no idea in having a Danish website - that nobody can see. So I have to change the settings to villafliser.dk in the admin. when I have finished the Danish webpage. It seems like you do not understand that the Danish website is not visible yet on the frontend.
So the question again: Should both of the settings (wordpress url and site url) be changed to villafliser.dk - or only one of them?

Hello there,

If you’re using WPML with different domains for each language, you don’t need to change the WordPress general settings (like the WordPress URL and site URL) for each language. WPML takes care of that for you. You can add the default languages website settings and leave them as they are.

Users can currently view villafliser.dk without any issues, I just tried with non-logged setup and it works properly, if you want this to be disabled for users, you can disable the languages from WPML->Languages->Hide Languages

Let me know if this is clear.

Thanks

Hi,
No, it is absolutely not working. What ever browser I use - in non logged-in setup - it is NOT showing. It redirects directly to handmadetilesbyvilla.com. So I cannot show you this - because villafliser.dk never comes up. Unfortunately I cannot show what is not existing.
You mentioned before the child theme. I have Twenty Twenty four - not child.
Please look into this. Thank you.

Hello there,

Please check this video from my end: hidden link

As I mentioned earlier, it may be due to cache on your end, I suggest you to try with hidden link

Thanks

Ok, I asked a friend to try it out on a completely different device without any history. It works. So it must be due to some sort of cache - although I have cleared for cache on my pc.
Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks again for helping.
One last question: Does that mean that my clients have been able to see an incomplete site with no products / tiles on it - since I activated the plugin?
Is there a way to prevent that? A button to activate which redirects to the English page?
