[Resolved] Delete former default language from the database
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to delete Hungarian content from your database using WPML settings, but the site continues to load without deleting the content. Solution: 1. Temporarily enable the Hungarian language on your site. 2. Navigate to the Posts section, switch to the Hungarian language, select all posts to delete, and remove them. 3. Empty the trash to ensure they are permanently deleted. 4. Repeat this process for other post types, including Products, Pages, and Templates. 5. Then, try to delete the language as you attempted before. For more detailed information, please refer to our guide on how to delete the translation of a page. Before making any changes, please remember to back up your site.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I just created a copy of hidden link on a temporary Elementor Domain (hidden link). The new site will have the domain hidden link when ready. This site does not target customers in Hungary anymore, only people in Germany and English-speaking countries. Therefore, we won't need the Hungarian translations anymore. The website content overall just changed slightly.
Symptoms:
When trying to delete the Hungarian contents from the database through the WPML setting, the site is just loading and loading without deleting the Hungarian content.
Questions:
Could you please help me delete the Hungarian content/translations from the database?
Hi Andrey, I was able to delete the former german translations and create new ones, but I was not able to delete the hungarian translations, maybe because it was the default and main language on the original page? Also there are some bugs in the new translations as sometimes internal links redirect to the roth domain of the duplicated page (good-vibes.hu) in other cases the internal links of the german page redirect to an english pages nevertheless there is a german translation of the page. How can I solve this?
Here are some examples:
1. hidden link (Home) click on CTA "Jetzt Anfragen" leads to hidden link instead of hidden link
2. hidden link (Home) click on "Mehr Erfahren/learn more" at the first point "Erfahrene DJs für jede Art von Event und Musikstil" leads to hidden link but there is a german translation of this page: hidden link this issue happen with all the other points on the home page in german
3. In the last CTA-Section of the german translated homepage (hidden link) the CTA Button this time does not lead to the roth page of the clone page but again to the english contact page hidden link instead of the german existing translation: hidden link
Please help me to fix this! Thanks in advance 🙂
Kind regards,
Jasmin
New threads created by Andrey and linked to this one are listed below:
1. hidden link (HOME) "Get a quote" CTA Button in the hero section leads to a page which doest even exists anymore --> hidden link
2. But in the last CTA Section below at the end of the homepage "Get a quote now!" it works without any problems, it is the same link a leads to --> hidden link as it should

If the Hungarian language was the original language of the page, then it could explain why you could not delete it the way you tried.

Regarding the other issue, I’ve created a separate support ticket to keep things organized and ensure a smoother support experience. I will also be away for the following days, and I want to ensure that you continue to receive assistance without delay 😊
Do I correctly understand that you still can't delete it?
I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible—in order to be of better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
