If you are referring to:
It was the suggestion for you to try, given that the issue happens randomly and that we are unable to reproduce, so this is a quick workaround we suggest you use for such pages. I think I did not make this clear in my previous message. |

So to be clear, you are asking me to do myself the: 1) Disabling all WPML plugins And if not you will do more debuggin on YOUR DUPLICATOR PRO copy? Did I get everything correctly? |

That is correct. We recommend this approach simply because, as of now, we have been unable to reproduce the issue. Random issues like this can be very difficult to debug. If you prefer not to follow this recommendation, please let us know. We will then proceed with debugging on local copies of your site created using Duplicator. |

Hi, I tried both methods: 1) Created a blank page and copied in it all the italian Elementor content. Then I created the english version with "translate independently" and copied an english content into it. 2) Your method was to disable all WPML plugins. I did, I then duplicated a page and ofcourse italian and english were now 2 separate entities. I renabled and tried to duplicate. Bug occured again. Since my client is eager to operate on the site (the site is still in development but will "soon" be published) the only way I could teach him to insert a new "technical fabric" page was to duplicate from the english version instead of italian wordpress backend. This seems to create no issues (?) although i now see that the "translation" dropdown from the right wordpress page settings is now locked in english instead of italian. Dunno if this is an issue. Thanks in advance. |

Can you send me the URL to one of these pages so I could have a look? |

Wait...this is getting out of hand...the website randomly lost the english content of the whole homepage. Bloody hell...this is insane. I will try to restore the website to a date before disabling WPML and see if this broke something. Listen can you advice a better way to translate Elementor pages using WPML? I can't afford to lose whole chunks of translation like this. |

I swear, I was in hidden link editing a link in the Elementor english content. I saved and somehow the content got overwritten with the Italian version. To let you understand more precisely, the hidden link before and after: hidden link Now I restored a monday backup. At this point I can't trust this WPML version anymore. All I can do is restore my 17th of Febraury backup before I updated WordPress, theme and plugins. I will be using versions of 1/2 years older...but better than having random translation lost. Or I can change the way I translate an Elementor website, if you have suggestions. At this point I'm kinda desperate. I will keep you posted if the 17th of Febraury backup works with no duplication WPML issues and all... |

I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience you're experiencing. Since you're using Elementor, it might be related to the issue described here: Would you mind taking a look and seeing if it applies to your situation? |

Hi, I don't use string translation. I translate pages like this...please kindly tell me if this is a bad way to do it: hidden link Also I tried to create blank page from scratch and copying just certain elementor contents, duplicate and see at which point english gets overwritten by italian content. Apparently there's something wrong in this column of the italian version: hidden link So I created a "TECHNICAL FABRIC" product from scatch both in Elementor italian and english version WITHOUT copying and pasting Elementor sections of my website. This new product will be used to duplicate and create other products...I have no other ways to understand what's happening here. Perhaps since the website has around 100 Elementor pages both in Italian and English is too "heavy"? Please see the loom video on top here to understand how I use WPML while developing Elementor websites...maybe I'm doing it wrong but I always did like this in the past 8 years both using Elementor or WP Bakery and I never had issues like this one. To sum up: 1) I create a page in Italian, fill in the content with a block builder (Elemento etc...) Then this page will be used to make new ones, changing what I need, as you can see in the loom video. Is this wrong? |

String Translation is required for Elementor translation only if you use translation editor because it creates the packages of strings that contain translations. But since you are not using translation editor, but translate and duplicate pages directly in WordPress, your workflow is correct. |

Do you suggest other methods in translating an Elementor page? Maybe is better to use your editor? By the way given you still have access to my website, what could be wrong in the italian version of this Elementor page: hidden link in the specific column you see here: hidden link (sorry the screenshot is for the english version) ??? Apparently if you duplicate pages (with both Italian and English translation) everything works fine EXCEPT pages that have that column you see in the imgur screenshot. Duplicating a page like the screenshot one, overwrites the Elementor content in the english version (creating the issue). |

But this is just a regular column, is it not? hidden link Can you reproduce this here with one simple page that uses such column layout? |

First of all I don't know why I can't access this ticket easily from my account. It disappeard from the Support tab. I had to find it in my internet history. Yes, it is a regular column. Actually is a column as "older" Elementor widget, not grid or flexbox. I created these pages on your website by copying elementor content from my website: hidden link hidden link Duplication seems to work (you will also find Politex DUPLICATE in both languages). At this point I don't know, maybe is something realted to header and footer made with Elementor template??? But they actually work on my website with some duplicated pages. To add more weirdness, please watch this video. This thing NEVER happened to me in years of WordPress and WPML: hidden link Please can you try to contact second level support? Maybe there's a wrong WPML setting. AND PLEASE ALWAYS TELL ME IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO MAKE CHANGES TO MY marinello.gasweb.it |

As for the video, is this the same issue that was initially reported? At least, that’s how I understood it. If so, I can check with our second-tier support to help debug the original issue. |
