This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
If you're experiencing issues editing a Chinese page within a custom post type called 'Systems', where you receive an error message stating 'You attempted to edit an item that doesn't exist. Perhaps it was deleted?', even though the item clearly exists and this issue is specific to the Chinese language.
Solution:
We recommend checking the 'trash' for both the pages and the custom post type to ensure no items are mistakenly marked as deleted. If the issue persists, try the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML->Settings-> Systems.
2. Change the translation for the Chinese term back to "systems".
This adjustment should allow you to access the edit page again. This is a known issue, and we are working on resolving it in upcoming releases of WPML. Always ensure you have a recent and working backup before making any changes.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket.
