Did you already test if the issue persists while using only WPML, WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce?

Yes, I already tried this and it persists on a minimum setup environment.

I'll check the test WordPress site but it will need a test Facebook Business account and Facebook Page for this to be tested. Does WPML have any test accounts? Because I cannot connect a client's actual Facebook Business account and Page.

Ok, everything is setup. Please check URLs in feeds for item OVS-04/LKDHEB (it is the only one I translated). You'll see that in Greek feeds the website and add to cart URLs point to the English language

Hello,

For further testing I would need access to the Facebook Shop account.

If this is not possble, please export a now a new feed for further revision and let me know once this is done.

I would like to point out again at this point that this feed is created by Facebook and you should defenitely reach out to Facebook about this, because it seems to me that this issue would not just occur with WPML, but with any translation plugin that uses different URL formats for different languages.

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

The generated feed also can be accessed in the uploads folder. Look into wp-content/uploads/facebook_for_woocommerce

Hello,

On the test site, I was going to test, how the feed behaves when switching the Site URL structure to "Different languages in directories".

Somehow it appeared to me that when using the Facebook for WooCommcer Product Sync Feature after creating a new product, the feed inside the site´s uploads folder did not show any changes.

This is why I asked for Facebook access, as it occured to me that this feed will need to be regenerated from the Facebook account. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

I was about to proceed with testing now, but for my surprise the test-site does no longer include Facebook for WooCommerce, neither products.

Did you take any changes here?

Please let me know if further assistance is needed.

Also, please let me know which issues occur on side of Facebook. As far I understood the issues are:

- Products appear as duplicate (once for each language)?
- Product links lead always to Checkout in site default language

Now, we included a setting for which products should be shown on Facebook. I would for now suggest to leave this setting only active for one language in order to avoid duplicated products to show up on Facebook.

WPML -> Languages -> Facebook Visibility

Regarding the checkout URLs, I would suggest to test this setting:

WPML -> Languages -> Browser language redirect -> Redirect visitors based on browser language only if translations exist

Also, take note that the Facebook for WooCommerce Plugin is not yet on our Compatilbity list.
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/?wpv_view_count=119945&dev=0&wpv-plugin-functionality=0&wpv_post_search=Facebook&wpv_filter_submit=Search

Our compatilbity team is currently working on making the product full compatible with WPML.

For now, the above mentioned options might the only solution that we can offer about how Facebook handles multilingual WooCommerce products (workaround).

Kind regards
Andreas

Did you take any changes here?

No, I didn't make any changes since I told you everything is setup. Maybe your system resets the environment automatically? Any logs you can check about what happened?

Also, please let me know which issues occur on side of Facebook. As far I understood the issues are:

- Products appear as duplicate (once for each language)?

Correct

- Product links lead always to Checkout in the site default language

Correct, also but let me clarify that the checkout links are generated by the Facebook for Woocommerce plugin also and are included in the feed file.

The last issue is that I would like to remind you is that there are also product page links in the feed file pointing only to the main language for both language products.

I will have to ditch I suppose the plugin for now and use another which is compatible with WPML, Product Feed PRO for WooCommerce -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/woo-product-feed-pro/

Hello,

From our side I can only take action in regards to our compatilbity team, if I can recreate the issue on a new WordPress install using the latest plugin version.

Anything else would need to be disgussed with our second tier support team.

As I do not yet have an account that is linked to the companies FB Business account for testing purposes. I am awaiting from our support lead feedback about this after the weekend.

In order for beeing able to have a better picture of the issue and to try a different setting for the WPML FB Visiblity, for example, I would like to have a look at the site.

Please take note that I can not escalate issues which we were not able to recreate on a new WP install and if the issue is not able to be recreated I need admin access to the site FTP to the server if possible.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better for a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi, since the resolution of the issue takes long, I have to move forward by discontinuing the use of the plugin and find a compatible one with WPML.

You can reproduce the issue even with a new installation of Woocommerce, WPML and Facebook for Woocommerce.

Thanks for the support.
