Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you on this issue.
To debug this issue further, I would need to check your site settings once, for this I would need temporary access (wp-admin and ftp) to your site.
So could you please provide me with those details, you will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. hidden link
The server team got back to me and had the following:
The reason that staging may have worked, the main site failed, can be related to them having different IPs used for outbound connections. From an initial review with our senior team we can not see any blocking on our end. Can you please confirm what the IP address of the plugin is (which is being used for the connection). We can then test your package's connection to that IP address to see if it is getting blocked.
Can you go to WPML->Support->Troubleshooting and set the site as alias of the main site once and see if it helps?
Did you tried this and see if it helps?
We do not have fixed IP addresses, as they change dynamically. Could you please contact your hosting provider and confirm whether the following URLs are whitelisted?
Where would I do the following as I can´t seem to find the place to do this.
Can you go to WPML->Support->Troubleshooting and set the site as alias of the main site once and see if it helps?
The server team got also back to me:
Would you be able to ask them for further details on how the connection is handled? As we will not have a hard-coded whitelist for those URLs however this does not mean they are getting blocked. We can only whitelist something if we can see it getting blocked within our logs. Currently, when tailing our connection logs we see only 200 responses and no mention of those URLs when the migration button is clicked within the plugin. Furthermore, can they explain the logic behind entering the "key" on the site? Where does it try to connect to when doing so?
It appears that the migration has already been completed on the site. Could you please provide more details about any issues you are still experiencing?
Additionally, kindly disable the site’s security temporarily so we can investigate and resolve the issue more efficiently.
I am not sure if we understand each other. WPML asks me for the new site key or that I need to register the new site which I can´t do as it gets the Failed to Fetch error.
