Background of the issue:
I am trying to figure out why WPML doesn't seem to be respecting formatting (text colour and weight, image layout) as soon as I switch from the English version to the French version of a page. Here are the example pages: English: hidden link French: hidden link Another example: English: hidden link French: hidden link
Symptoms:
The general layout seems to bug in the French version, with issues in font colour and weight, and image format.
Questions:
Why is WPML not respecting the formatting (text colour and weight, image layout) when switching from English to French?
How can I fix the layout issues in the French version of the pages?
I have reviewed the pages and understand the issues. There are two separate issues, which I will address individually below.
- Layout issue on the "page-de-test-apimo": Upon reviewing the default page, I found that the property grid is added by a plugin called "Apimo." In the translated version, several components from this plugin, such as the slick slider and styles, are not loading, which is why the layout does not appear correctly. Please note that the "Apimo" plugin is not currently listed as compatible with WPML, so this could be a compatibility issue.
I recommend reaching out to the Apimo plugin's support team to inquire whether the plugin fully supports a multilingual environment. You can also share the translation issue you encountered with them, and hopefully, they can provide a solution or suggestions.
In the meantime, I suggest the following workaround:
- Open the translated page and manually add the property grid.
- On the Apimo settings page, switch to "All Languages" using the language switcher in the admin top bar.
- Ensure that all settings are configured correctly, then save the changes. This will apply the settings across all languages.
- Afterward, open the translated page again and manually re-add the property grid.
If that didn't help, please consider contacting the Apimo support team and following their suggestions.
- Text styling issue on the "inter-agences" page: After reviewing both the default and translated pages, I observed that the font color, size, and the black overlay over the image in the page title section are not displaying correctly in the translated version. Could you please share how the text styles were applied and how the black overlay was added to the page title section? If possible, providing screenshots would be helpful for better understanding. I will check and advice you on what to do to solve the issues.
Looking forward to your response and I'll be happy to help.
Best regards,
Prosenjit
