This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to translate the footer string into multiple languages using the AVADA theme. When trying to add a translation for a second language, the first translation was overwritten, and only the last inserted language was available.
Solution:
We informed the client that their current membership does not include the capability to translate widgets. To translate widgets, the client needs the WPML String Translation add-on, as detailed in our documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/. We also questioned how the String Translation add-on was installed since it is not included in their membership. We advised the client that translating the footer strings would not work until they update their subscription.

If the solution provided here is not relevant to your case, either because it's outdated or not applicable, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi, when I try to translate the string in the footer (as shown with the attachment) the system doesn't work. If I translate into one language it works, but if I add another language (using the selector at the top left "Display in language:") the first one is overwritten and the only one available is the last one inserted. What could it depend on? How can I correctly associate the footer text with the language selected by the visitor?

The theme I'm using is AVADA 7.11.7 and the WPML String Translation is active.

Thank you.

Hi there.

Your membership doesn't allow for translating "widgets'.

You will need the "WPML String Translation" add-on to translate widgets, as mentioned here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/

I don't even know how is the String Translation add-on installed on the site. Was it downloaded from the internet from a different site?

Because your membership doesn't come with this add-on and translating those parts will not work until the subscription is not updated.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.

Thank You for your reply. I see. The WPML String Translation has been downloaded from your site since I was using the "Multilingual CMS" licence some year ago. I will evaluate if to make an upgrade.

My pleasure!

Take all the time that you need, of course.

Good luck with the project!
