[Closed] Homepage Translation Issue — English Edits Overwriting French Default Language

Background of the issue:
I am trying to prevent the English homepage edits from overwriting the French default language. I added the following constant to the wp-config.php file: define('WPML_TRANSLATION_AUTO_UPDATE_ENABLED', false); However, this did not resolve the issue. The problem can be seen on the page: hidden link.

Symptoms:
When I edit the English homepage, it overwrites the French version. The constant added to wp-config.php did not work.

Questions:
Why does editing the English homepage overwrite the French version?
Why is the constant in wp-config.php not preventing the issue?
