Background of the issue:
I'm trying to set up WPML. I am getting 2 error messages.
1:
WPML String Translation is attempting to write .mo files with translations to folder:
/home/u660247677/domains/reviewcardstore.com/public_html/wp-content/languages

This folder appears to be not writable. This is blocking translation for strings from appearing on the site.

To resolve this, please contact your hosting company and request that they make that folder writable.

For more details, see WPML's documentation on troubleshooting .mo files generation..

2:
We have detected a problem with some tables in the database. Please contact WPML support to get this fixed.

Table 'u660247677_NCdyN.wp_icl_strings' doesn't exist
Array
(
[language] => en
[context] => WP Endpoints
[gettext_context] =>
[domain_name_context_md5] => 3a448b300c73de9c6696651892b08d2f
[name] => wc-api
[value] => wc-api
[status] => 0
[translation_priority] => optional
[allow_empty_value] =>
)

Symptoms:
I am having some problems with my database. The file languages does not exist in my database and I am getting another error message.

Questions:
Why does the file languages not exist in my database?
What is causing the error message during WPML setup?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

1) Please contact hosting support as advised in the message and make sure that these folders are writable.

2) Seems WPML was not able to create some database table, since you are just setting up, try to reset WPML a few times and try again:

- https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/deleting-languages-and-plugin-data-by-doing-a-wpml-reset-on-your-site/#:~:text=The%20final%20step%20is%20to%20reset%20WPML.%20This%20removes%20WPML%20tables%20from%20the%20site%E2%80%99s%20database%20and%20deactivates%20the%20plugin.%C2%A0

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Drazen

I had several problems with WPML before that caused me to install and uninstall it more often. Then the “Languages” folder was present every time. Now it doesn't work anymore.

I made the languages map manually in the database.
