[Resolved] I can not translate Product Filters for WooCommerce
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is trying to translate Product Filters for WooCommerce and has switched to Yith product filters due to compatibility issues. Despite translating the labels with WPML, they do not appear on the website. Solution: First, we recommend checking our compatibility list to ensure the plugin you are using is compatible with WPML. You can also search for the plugin's compatibility with WPML on Google by typing 'WPML+plugin name'. For example, you can find information about JetSmartFilters here: https://wpml.org/plugin/jetsmartfilters/. Additionally, we have added the translated filter shortcode to the translated Archive template on your site. Please verify if this resolves the issue.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
1) Would you please share screenshots or a screen-recorded video while reproducing the issue to help me understand it better?
2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.
Thanks for your update. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Thanks for the access details. I edited the translated archive template using Elementor and added the "Filters for product archive en" shortcode, but it didn't appear on the front end.
Please log in to this hidden link">sandbox site and install the filters plugin only. After that, please create a test filter to replicate the issue. Please let me know if the issue is replicable so I can check it and consult our compatibility team.
I added the plugin to the website, but I am not able to recreate the issue, because I don't see the "templates" page and I normally work with Elementor. Hope you can help me in another way too?
I switched plug-ins and am now using WCAPF - Woocommerce Ajax Product Filter. Everything works fine now, but I can not translate the labels from the filters. Is there a way I can do this?
Thank you for your time. I installed the plugin, but apparently the filters can't be displayed because "The free version of the plugin does not support filtering products on singular pages. Upgrade to the Pro version to unlock this feature.".
On my site it works fine, and I also have the free version. Hope you can help me like this too.
Thanks for your update. I was able to fix the issue on the sandbox site by the following steps:
1- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Post Type Translation section
2- Set the following post types to "Translate - Show Only Translated Items"
* Filter Forms (wcapf-form)
* Filters (wcapf-filter)
3- Go to WPML-> Translation Management
4- Search for the filter and send it to translation
5- Complete the filter translation
6- Edit the translated filter using the WordPress editor
7- Add the translated categories and attributes
After that, the filter appears correctly in both languages. Please check the sandbox's hidden link">shop page.
I think you need the pro version in order to be able to translate these filters correctly using Elementor.
Before buying it, please consult the WCAPF support team about this issue and ask them if the pro version will fix it.
I'm saying this because I checked their documentation, which mentioned that you need the pro version to use it correctly with Elementor single templates.
Best regards,
Osama
