This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client updated product images on their website using a plugin to replace images, but the new square images are not appearing on the translated versions of the product pages. The original pages display the updated images correctly, while the translated pages still show the old rectangular images. The client attempted to synchronize the images via WPML's Settings > Media Translation but it did not resolve the issue.

Solution:
We recommend the following steps to ensure that the updated images appear on all translated pages:
1. Open the original content in the WordPress Editor and remove the image from the content.
2. Upload a completely new media file to the media library.
3. Translate your content.
4. Replace the image inside the media library with the new one.

This workflow should prevent the issue from occurring. If the image is not automatically replaced on the original post, it is expected that the translation will not show the new image, as it no longer exists in the media library.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket.

My apologies, I was testing with the shop page and I was focusing on the "image shape" issue on some products and realized that those did not occur if I disabled "Divi BodyCommerce".

Now, I was able to replicate the issue with a new test product and I see that the Featured Images are not getting replaced, on the Shop Page, Single Product Page, and the Product Archive Page.

I have not yet run a test with the Divi Theme on my test site, I will run another test now and try to replicate the issue.

Yes, this appears to be an issue that only occurs when the Divi Theme is used and I can replicate it with a normal post running only WPML and Enable Media Replace.

The issue has been escalated internally so that our compatibility team can debug and review this problem, but it seem to be the case, that some kind of code inside the Divi Theme is causing this unexpected behavior.

Once I received feedback from our team I will be in contact again.

We have realized that this issue only occurs if you add media to a post that already exists inside the media library.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you could simply upload the media file again and you should not see an issue with replacing this newly uploaded media file.

Please try this workaround and let us know if it works out for you:

- On one of the affected contents open the original content inside the WordPress Editor, remove the image from the content, and upload a complete new media file to the media library.

- Now, translate your content.

- Finally replace the image inside the media library.

When following this workflow, we were not able to recreate the issue.

Please let us know if it works for you in this way, too.

After further testing, we realized that the issue only occurs, if we replace an image and for some reason, this image is not automatically replaced on the original post.

In this case, it is expected that the translation remains empty, as the image no longer exists inside the media library.

Somehow we are struggling to recreate this issue, as from 10 posts on our test site issue only occurs on one post, but in this case, the issue is expected, as for some reason the featured image of the original post was not updated when replacing the image.
