By the way, I noticed another "weird" behavior, for a new ticket with you, on media translation.
Say, I have an image with a French text. Go to media translation for this image, it leads me to image wpml11a.
Then, in DE version, I upload an other image, with German text, with its german "slug" / file name, it leads me to image wpml11b.
Result leads me to image wpml11c. The slug / title of the original image (in FR) remains for the DE translation. Though it's name / slug is necessarily different. To be fair, I don't see any good reason why the title / slug remains in original language.
Welcome to the WPML support forum. I will do my best to help you to resolve the issue.
I hope you are trying to achieve the following. If so it is reproducible in a fresh installation and looks like a feature request.
1) Uploading an image and its name is Test Image
2) So the Image Name/Slug will be *Test Image*
3) Visit WPML>>Media Translation
4) Open the Image *Test Image* for edit
5) Upload the Image Translation
6) Its file name will be *Image d'essai*
7) After Image translation, the name of the translated image will be *Test Image* instead of *Image d'essai*

Hello,
Yes, this is it.
What I understand is that it it the current normal behavior, yes? This is very surprising because I don't see any good reason why the slug / name stays in original language ... and anyway, it's deadend since 2 different images can't have the same name / slug.
Kind regards
Alina
Thank you for the feedback. I have escalated the ticket to our developers and the fix will be included in the future version of WPML.
We will get back to you as early as possible when we have an update on this. Please wait.
