This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with WPML where images updated in the original language do not update in the translated versions. Additionally, when text on pages is changed and retranslated, the translated images are lost.
Solution:
First, ensure that the plugins 'Enable Media Replace' and 'Media Cleaner' are deactivated, as they might interfere with the WPML Media Translation functionality. Next, clear the cache on your hosting to ensure that no old data is causing the issue. If the problem persists, try removing the Media Translation plugin and reinstalling it to reset its settings and files. We also recommend creating a new article with an image, translating it, and checking if the issue still occurs.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be outdated or specific to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem continues, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance at WPML support forum.

Hello Paola,

thanks for your reply. You have my permission to create a test page and reproduce the problem.

Best regards

I was able to reproduce the issue on your site.

I have tried to reproduced the issue on the test sie changing the default language to german but it is working properly.

So the issue is only happening on your site.

Do you give me permission to download a copy of your site? that way I can investigate the problem without affecting your site.

Hello Paola,

feel free to grab a copy of the website. Anything that helps to get this issue resolved.

Maybe a fresh installation of Basepress and WPML could help? However I'm not sure if all of the data would be lost in that case?

Hi there!

On my local site, a copy of your site, it is working properly as you can see in this video:

Please do the following on your side:
- remove cache of the hosting
- delete Media Translation plugin and upload it again

Please let me know if after that it is working properly.
