[Resolved] In a gravity form, I need the list of countries in a dropdown to not be translated.
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client needed to prevent the translation of country names in a form dropdown on their website using WPML, but wanted to avoid manually copying each name for multiple languages. Solution: We recommended using the Advanced Translation Editor to manually copy the country names from English to the desired languages without changing them. Here are the steps we suggested: 1. Make a minor change to the form in the original language and save it. 2. Navigate to WPML > Translation Dashboard and select the form. 3. At the bottom of the page, send it for translation and select yourself as the translator. 4. Go to WPML > Translations, find the form, and click to translate. 5. In the translation editor, you will see a list where you can manually copy each country name to the translation. Additionally, we assisted by copying all the country names for three languages using the translation memory shared between staging and live environments. This allowed the client to see the country names in English across different translations and continue with the rest of the content translation.

This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
We have a form on this page: hidden link. The plugin has translated some of the countries in the form dropdown. I need to find a way to tell the plugin to not translate these.
Welcome to WPML support. I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.
Make sure you set the next reply as private.
I will follow the steps I mentioned in the chat to copy the country names to the other language.
I'm assuming that you want all the countries copied from English to the other languages for "Country*" dropdown.
Thank you now I sent the form for translation, entered the translation editor and copied all the country names for three languages.
Now you can send the forms for translations and this time you will see the countries in English and you can continue finishing the rest of the translations.
As the translation memory is shared between the two it should work ok. Even if it is not, I'd be happy to do the same for the live website if you provide the login information by setting the next reply as private.
Also please finish the translation completely for the form so the result is saved. I saw lots of other text that was not yet translated.
Thanks. A different query on the same website. When trying to add an admin user (jessica@samuraipromotions.co.uk) as a translator they don't come up as an option?
Why would that be?
Thanks.
