Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with the original language of WooCommerce products after changing the default language in WPML. We changed the site's default language from [previous language] to Slovak. New products added after this change correctly have Slovak as their original language. The issue arises with products created before the default language change. These products are still linked to the previous language as their original language. This causes difficulties in editing and syncing products, as WPML considers them as translations instead of originals. We have attempted using the Set Language Information tool and syncing products via WPML → WooCommerce Multilingual, but these solutions only partially helped.

Symptoms:
Products created before the default language change are still linked to the previous language as their original language, causing difficulties in editing and syncing.

Questions:
How can I change the original language of existing products to Slovak after changing the default language in WPML?
What steps can I take to ensure that WPML recognizes these products as originals instead of translations?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

I am afraid that is expected, changing the default language of a website does not change the default language in which content was created.

The only way to change the default language of an existing products it to manually adjust it. Please check; https://wpml.org/forums/topic/change-default-language-of-existing-products-in-bulk/

Please make sure to create a backup, before doing any actions, just in case.

Regards,
Drazen
