I am rebuilding my WordPress website on a new VPS in a multisite environment. Since our previous WPML license no longer had a valid certificate and stopped working properly, we purchased a new one. I would now like to install it without losing any of my existing translations. However, when I try to upload the ZIP file through the Plugins page, I get the message “this link has expired.”
I have been told that in this case I should upload the ZIP file through the file manager on my VPS. I have done this, but I still do not see the new credentials in my WordPress environment. At the moment, WPML is not working for me.
The website is mabobenelux.com — a version is currently live, but I am updating the site in a separate environment to make sure we don’t experience any downtime.
Could you please help me complete this installation?
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please back up your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes, and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Best regards,
Osama
