[Resolved] Internal links are not auto translated when using ACF Link field inside Flexible content
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing an issue where internal links are not being auto-translated when using the ACF Link field inside Flexible content. For example, the link remato.com/pricing does not change to remato.com/et/hinnakiri. Solution: We are aware of this issue and it should be addressed in the upcoming release of ACF Multilingual. We recommend installing the beta version of the plugin to see if it resolves the problem. You can check the changelog here.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. For further assistance, you can contact us directly at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to have links directing users to other pages, but they are not localized. The issue can be seen on the page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
Internal links are not auto-translated when using the ACF Link field inside Flexible content. The link remato.com/pricing stays as remato.com/pricing instead of changing to remato.com/et/hinnakiri.
Questions:
Why are internal links not being auto-translated when using the ACF Link field?
How can I ensure that links are localized correctly?
Hi There!
Thanks for reaching out to WPML Support.
Before this thread gets assigned to my colleague, I'd like to offer some initial guidance or potential solutions.
Since you're using the ACF Link field and selecting internal links, the links should update automatically during translation. However, this depends on whether the associated page exists in the language you’re viewing. If the page is not available in that language, the link will not be updated.
If you can confirm that the page exists and the issue persists, please try the following steps to see if they help resolve the problem:
- Please go to `WPML > Settings` and scroll to the Translate Link Targets section.
- Click on the "Scan now and adjust links" button and wait till the process is completed.
- Once done, resave the permalink structure by going to "Settings > Permallinks", clear the caches, and check again.
Please give it a try and let us know how it goes. We'll be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Thanks for your patience. Our compatibility team is aware of the issue, which should be fixed in the next ACF Multilingual release. Kindly check the changelog here.
Please install the beta version of the plugin and check if it fixes the issue.
