Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and I want to enable automatic translation using WPML. I raised this issue before, and Andreas W. mentioned it was due to the display name in my WordPress profile. I have updated the display name and registered the site again, but I still encounter the same error. The ticket I refer to is https://wpml.org/forums/topic/issue-in-wpml-i-cant-enable-automatic-translation/. The issue can be seen at hidden link.
Symptoms:
I expected to see the option to automatically translate the entire site from English to Arabic as toggleable. Instead, I got the error message: 'Your default language, English, must be mapped to a supported language in order to use automatic translation.'
Questions:
Why can't I enable automatic translation even after updating the display name?
How can I map English to a supported language for automatic translation?
Thanks for contacting us. My apologies for the delay in response.
I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your response. I’ve deregistered the site key and re-registered it, and the issue appears to be resolved now. Could you please check on your end?
Hello, I enable the automatic translation. Tell me exact steps you followed to fixed this issue. I am using wpml from years never faces this type of issue this starts happening in this month before support guy said this only because of the profile display name but didn't work please explain
Thanks for your reply. This appears to be an issue on our server side—our system is currently unable to verify your website. To resolve this, I went to WP > Plugins > Add New > Commercial tab, clicked on "Unregister this sitekey" in the top right corner, and then re-registered using the same sitekey. Once the verification is successful, automatic translation should resume working as expected.
