Background of the issue:
I followed the instructions in the email you sent (see text below). Despite updating WPML first, we are not able to edit pages in Elementor 3.26.
"We just released WPML 4.6.15 to address a critical compatibility issue with Elementor 3.26 which is scheduled to be released today.
If you update Elementor to version 3.26 before updating WPML to 4.6.15, your site will experience a fatal PHP error with severe issues:
The Elementor editor will break
Pages with a language switcher will show a critical error
To keep your site running smoothly:
First, update WPML to version 4.6.15
Then, safely update Elementor to version 3.26
Make sure to follow these steps to avoid any issues with your site."
Symptoms:
The page shown in the screenshot below shows the wheel that never stops turning when trying to edit the page. Our WP host suggested to turn off WPML CMS altogether, based on the error logs.
Questions:
Should we try to turn off WPML CMS to see if we are able to edit the page? But that would also prevent us from using WPML altogether.
I rolled back Elementor, I deleted WPML, reinstalled WPML with the previous version and updated Elementor again. Getting away from the Beta version helped restore the functionality.
