Background of the issue:
I am working on displaying likert scale entries in my gravity forms on my website hidden link. I have previously attempted to resolve this issue as mentioned in my last support request.
Symptoms:
While the likert scale entries display correctly in notification emails as translated by WPML, they do not show up in the entries on the website itself.
Questions:
Why are the likert scale entries not showing up in the entries on the website despite appearing correctly in translated notification emails?
What steps can I take to ensure that likert scale responses are visible in the website entries?
Hi again, this might help clarify further: I'm realizing that likert scale entries also show up under "survey results" in gravity forms but it still looks like only original language (English) entries are showing.
PLUS I'm only able to export English data with no option to include translated answers. See screenshot - note all of my tests from lykolara@gmail.com are not showing my responses.
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I’m happy to help you with this issue.
It could be a compatibility between WPML and Gravity Forms Survey Add-On. To be able to report the compatibility issue we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation. I created a clean installation of WordPress, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons. You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below: hidden link
Kindly follow the steps below:
- Don’t restore your site there.
- Install Gravity Forms and its addon plugins.
- Try to replicate the issue with minimal steps.
- Then let me know the steps to replicate it.
Hi Long, here are the steps I have followed so far but am running into issues before I can recreate:
1) Created new page to embed form: hidden link
2) Imported form from my current website and added to the page above.
3) Sent form to translation and selected manual translation
4) Opened in advanced translation editor
- I see that many strings are NOT showing up here that need to be translated.
- missing translation strings are also not showing up in WPML string translations.
- I translated what I could but you'll see that the survey answer sections are still untranslated.
I have not tested submitting the form yet since it is incomplete.
Please advise?
Would it be more helpful to give you admin access to my own staging site?
I've removed some survey entries in the form "Understanding Temperament" and re-translated the form. Now you can see all strings are translated and displayed in the frontend. Please continue replicating the issue and let me know steps to do that.
Hi Long, I have tested submitting in the form and entries are being successfully recorded in both English and Spanish. What are next steps? How do we investigate why this isn't happening on the live site?
I suggest you enable a minimal environment as below and see if it helps:
- Deactivate all plugins except WPML, GravityForms and Gravity Forms Survey Add-On plugins.
- Switch to a standard theme of WordPress.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks
