Tell us what you are trying to do? To keep the original URL of the links related to the documents of the translated languages. Is there any documentation that you are following? No. Is there a similar example that we can see? Do not know, sorry. What is the link to your site? <hidden link; Hi WPML support team. English as default language; translated into Basque and Spanish. Frequently, in the Translation interface, the links of the documents belonging to the translated versions lose their URL and get replaced by the one belonging to the English version. Can we keep those URLs stable over time? Because is quite a burden to, once and again, correct them… Thank you. |

Hi there, Would you please deactivate WPML CMS Nav and WPML Sticky links plugins and then follow the steps below? - Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Settings >Translate Link Targets". Also please make sure you add the URLs in absolute format and not relative. Correct example: Wrong example: /about-us-2/ Thanks. |

Christopher, I apologize for my long silence; Other more important and peremptory duties have prevented me from being able to respond to you. As soon as I can, I will pay attention to this issue, because having to correct once and again many links of the different language versions of the website consumes a lot of time. |

Christopher, [I apologize for not being able to respond to you sooner; In truth, it was because I am very busy.] Apparently, when there is a software update, frequently, the links [URL] to the documentation corresponding to the translated languages are replaced by those corresponding to the default one, in our case, English. I'm going to start by fixing the changed links and, then, I will follow your suggestion. I hope yours is a permanent solution, because having to frequently correct the modified [URL] links is too time consuming. Thanks for helping. Best wishes. |

Hello Christopher, thank you for your support and patience. We always have the URLs in absolute format. This is the procedure we have followed: 1) Yesterday, we again corrected the URLs [corresponding to the translated files]. 2) Today, unfortunately, some of the translated URLs were pointing back to the default English file. 3) We have completed the procedure you suggested. 4) We have again corrected the URLs [corresponding to the translated files]; almost all of them were fine. 5) We have carried out again the procedure you suggested, being the result: “All posts and strings have been processed. 0 links were changed to point to the translated content.” Now, all the URLs of the translated versions point to their file. 6) We have backup our website. Christopher, what about the WPML CMS Nav and WPML Sticky links plugins you indicated, should we leave them deactivated or should we reactivate them? Thank you very much Best wishes. |

Hello Christophe. Your assistance is superb. Thank you very much for trying to get to the heart of the problem. The proposed migration has been completed successfully. We have rechecked all the URLs and they are all fine. Since, for now, the problem seems to be solved, until you tell us otherwise, we will keep the WPML CMS Nav and WPML Sticky Links plugins deactivated. Take care. Best wishes. |

Thank you, I see that the website is copied. I apologize as I forgot to ask for the login information. I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard. Make sure you set the next reply as private. Also I'd appreciate it if you can give the page link which contains a documentation URL (tell us the section that we can see the URL) to monitor and see when the issue happens. I will need to deactivate other third party plugins to make sure we are only having WPML and it is not a compatibility issue with other plugins. Thanks. |

Hi there, I deactivated the plugin which is responsible for the panel login here: hidden link And the login information you provided is still not working, also it is not working on the staging website. I checked the links below also from the front end: hidden link hidden link For now the PDF URLs are: hidden link hidden link Which seems to be ok. I'd appreciate it if you could provide a way that we can login in the copied website to monitor more. |

Hi there, Thank you for the login information. I managed to login and now I am monitoring this page: hidden link When I checked the Advanced Translation Editor it is showing as the one I shared the screenshot. I wonder if it is correct? |

Hi Christophe, thank you very much for helping us! Indeed, in your screenshot of the Advanced Translation Editor, the URL of the [original] English PDF is correctly linked to the URL of the PDF corresponding to the Basque translation. Please, run the pending software updates because, in our experience, this is when the URLs of the translated documents switch back to the ones corresponding to the English version. Thank you! |

Hi there, I updated the plugins and the themes and nothing changed. But changing the original language content and then checking the translation caused all the link translations to vanish. For now I could not find any reason why this can happen. I will update you if I find something. Thanks. |

Christophe, Thanks for your efforts. Try to stabilize those URLs because having to correct them again and again is very time consuming. Looking forward to the resolution of this issue. Best wishes. |
