Background of the issue:
1. The search function of the plugin Maps Marker Pro does not work with WPML installed and activated. Neither in the original language nor in the newly added second one.
It will work again after deactivating WPML String Translation plugin. Yet, i obviously need the string translation.

See this issue here:
hidden link

2. I am using the default language switcher in the footer and it works fine on all pages. But on the stand-alone-maps, it does not link to the translated map but to the homepage.

See this issue here: hidden link

Symptoms:
See above

Questions:
How to fix these two issues? Any help will be much appreciated.

Please let me know if you are able to reproduce the issue with Maps Marker Pro on the test site that I set up.

hi lauren,

i meanwhile found out that i cannot install the plugin on the test site, as the licence is limited to the domain we are using it with.

so how can we go on from here? do you have the maps marker pro plugin available at your end to install it on the test site?

in case you will have a look at our website, the links i provided above: we added language switchers in the marker popup, those are manually coded and work. yet, those at the footer below the stand-alone-map, that are automatically generated by wpml, still don't work

I do not have a copy of Maps Marker Pro. Do you have any contact information for the plugin author? I'll be happy to reach out and ask for a copy so we can test on a clean install.

this is the homepage for the plugin hidden link

and this is their email-address: support@mapsmarker.com

we also opened a ticket there: [#PPU-982DA-A8A] Inkompatibilität MMP & WPML String Translation - if you want to refer to that.

I've sent an email requesting a temporary license but have not heard back yet. Have you heard anything back on their end from the ticket you opened there?

thank you for your message, sorry, i have been on the road for some days with no possibility to answer here.

meanwhile, we were able to solve the problem with the search not working.
yet, the language switcher links in the footer menu on stand-alone-maps still don't work.

we asked mapsmarker to give you this license, still waiting for their answer. do you have any idea about possible reasons for the problem?

I have not heard back from the author yet in regards to a license. If you would like me to login to your site and take a look at these stand alone maps, I'll be happy to. I have marked the next reply as private so that you can safely share credentials if you like.

hi lauren,

according to the authors of mapmarkerpro, this second issue has nothing to do with wpml either but is on their side. that's what they now finally told us.

so thank you very much, kind regards, silke
