This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is trying to sync an image across different language versions of their website.
Solution:
We recommended the following steps:
1. Determine how the image field is added to the category page, whether it's through a plugin or the theme.
2. If it's added via a plugin or theme, follow these steps:
- Go to WPML -> Settings -> Custom Term Meta section.
- Search for the image field.
- Set it to Copy.
- Edit the category in the default language.
- Add an image and update it.
- Check the translated category.
