This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing multiple issues with their bilingual website using WPML and Divi Builder. The primary issues include: the Spanish menu not displaying unless set as the primary menu, the menu reverting to English when navigating to other pages, needing custom links for a custom Spanish menu, and only the top half of the homepage translating when using Divi. Solution: 1. To address the issue of the Spanish menu not appearing unless set as primary, and reverting to English on page navigation, we recommend checking the WPML language settings and ensuring that the menu language switching options are correctly configured. It's important to set the Spanish menu as secondary and ensure that the language switcher is properly implemented on all pages. 2. For the issue of needing custom links in the Spanish menu, you should create these links directly in the Spanish menu. This ensures that each language version can have its own unique set of links. 3. Regarding the partial translation of the homepage built with Divi, it's likely due to how the Divi Builder handles translations. We suggest checking each module in the Divi Builder to ensure they are fully translatable and properly configured in WPML. If these solutions do not resolve your issues or seem outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. I have an English default site. The secondary language is Spanish.
I have a separate menu in Spanish because I have custom links and less pages to link to.
I'm having four issues:
1 -
a) The Spanish menu won't show up unless I make it a primary menu.
BUT if I make it a Primary Menu, it is always in Spanish regardless of whether I'm on an English or Spanish page.
In my settings, my priority is English.
b) When I remove the Primary menu setting in Spanish, (and clear site cache & WP Engine) it looks very wonky for a long time.
I'm sure it's a caching issue...but takes a super long time (see attached)
2- changing to the Spanish menu and having it stay Spanish.
if I click away to another page it reverts back to the English
3- If I have a custom Spanish menu, I'm assuming that all links need to be custom as well correct?
4 - I translated the Home page and it only translated the top half. I'm assuming that its because it was built in Divi and there are many sections?
Attached is a screenshot of homepage backend and frontend translated.
Many thanks for your help.
I hope these are quick issues that have to do with my settings.

How do I delete the links below each product?
We need them removed on the Spanish page hidden link
SEE ATTACHED.
I tried to remove the markers and added # instead of actual url links, but it won't accept it.
Thanks in advance!
I just checked the homepage and I see content on the Spanish version, it's just not translated. Do you see translated content in the Translation Editor?
As for those links, those don't look like they are coming from WPML. How are you inserting the links in the original language, in English?
I have marked the next reply as private in case you want to share credentials so that I can login and see if I can find where these links are added.
Hello -I'm hoping to get this resolved. Otherwise I will create a manual homepage in Spanish. I did try today and for some reason it disappeared. Maybe you were editing the site?
Thanks in advance!
I am also no longer seeing the correct page on the frontend, but the content looks like it's loading in the backend when viewing the Spanish page using Divi editor. So I saved the page from the Divi Editor, and now I see the content on the frontend and the translations. However, this is not expected and you should be able ot use the WPML editor.
I see that your Divi theme needs an update, and that you have a child theme. Since this is a dev site, would it be possible to update Divi and switch the theme to main Divi and allow me to run some additional tests? I'd also like to test deactivating non WPML plugins to see if there could be some conflict happening some where. Let me know if that's okay to test.
I ended up manually recreating the Spanish Homepage, so at this point I don't need any assistence.
I see that there is a Homepage translated in Spanish. But not sure how to make updates to classes....I don't think this can be done...correct?
New issue that we need to fix please:
hidden link
We need to remove all the links on this page.
But getting missing marker errors.
Is this possible? Please see attached.
In order to remove the links completely, you should edit the page in the original language and remove the links from there. Then, update the translation and those link fields should be gone.
If you only want to remove the links from the secondary language, you will need to edit the translated page manually, using the Divi Builder. That's the only way to have different elements per language.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance and I will be happy to help.
