Background of the issue:
I am experiencing various problems with WPML on my site hidden link. The main issues involve translations and the Advanced Translation Editor. I have tried to upgrade a translator (user: martijn) to Translation Manager but was unable to do so. I deleted and re-added him, but now he cannot view the translation queue. Additionally, I am constantly prompted to update translations, and the reminder never goes away. Martijn's user is set to see hidden languages, but he only sees English.
Symptoms:
1. Program crashes when the translator tries to edit in the Advanced Translation Editor. 2. Unable to upgrade the translator to Translation Manager. 3. Translator cannot view the translation queue. 4. Persistent update translation reminder. 5. Translator cannot see hidden languages.
Questions:
Why does the program crash when the translator tries to edit in the Advanced Translation Editor?
Why am I unable to upgrade the translator to Translation Manager?
Why can't the translator view the translation queue after being re-added?
Why does the update translation reminder never go away?
Why can't the translator see hidden languages despite the settings?
Hi Lauren, thanks for all this. I did as instructed, but when the migration started it confirmed that it was MOVING my site, not copying it. I canceled the migration. Is there something I did wrong in the settings to instruct it to MOVE my site? Thanks for any assistance.
Where did you see something about moving the site? The cloudways app should just be copying your site to the cloudways server that I set up for you. If that isn't working, then you can use a plugin like WPStaging to create a staging copy of your site and we can test there.
Well, I followed your instructions (the menus were a bit different) and when complete, the plugin told me it was "moving" my site. I just immediately canceled.
Please give me a day or two on my end. I would like to investigate some work-arounds on this end. Please leave the ticket open and I will come back to you after I can check out how we can get moving again on our end.
Hi Lauren, thanks for your patience. Here's an update. We are doing this the old-fashioned way. The translator is coming to me and doing them on my system. So for now, because we are rather in a hurry, this is the best way for now. We do want to give the remote access a try again in the future, when we are less stressed for time, so I might come back to you again on this at some future date. For now, I have only one additional question that perhaps you can assist me with.
I see the automatic translator did provide translations for tables (TablePress). However, they are not displaying. I'm guessing that I might have to do some additional formatting? Perhaps you can save me some research time on that and let me know if there is a special trick I need to apply?
Otherwise, thanks for all your help. If you can answer me on the TablePress question, that would be great. Otherwise, you can close the ticket. Appreciate all your time.
I completely understand, and once you have more time, we will be happy to come back around and address this issue.
As for TablePress, how are you displaying the table content? Are you using a shortcode? If so, it's possible you need to update the page translation where you insert the code and translate the shortcode ID. If that's not the case, please feel free to open a new chat or ticket so that we can address this issue specifically. Thank you.
