[Resolved] Missing paragraph in original for translation in some languages
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue where a specific paragraph ('Dimensions - height x width x depth (cm): 80 x 65 x 75') is missing in the German and Czech translations of a page, resulting in English text appearing in these translations. The paragraph is present in the Hungarian translation. Solution: We recommend installing the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin and cloning the problematic page. Then, follow these steps: 1. Go to your Dashboard > Pages. 2. Open the edit screen of the original page and look for a pencil/circle/gear icon under the "Languages" section in the sidebar. 3. Make a minor change, such as adding an extra blank space at the end of a sentence or paragraph. 4. Save the changes. A circular arrow should appear beside the links for the second languages, indicating that an update is required. 5. Edit the translation again and ensure it is saved up to 100% translated. If this does not resolve the issue, please provide us with the login information for the copied website so we can further investigate.

Background of the issue:
I am translating a page /jozsef-peresztegi-stahlrohr-sessel-paar1/ where a text was added ("Delivery options") to Cs, Ge, and HU. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
In En to Ge and En to Cs, the paragraph 'Dimensions - height x width x depth (cm): 80 x 65 x 75' is missing, resulting in English text appearing in the German translation. In En to Hu, it is present.
Questions:
Why is the paragraph 'Dimensions - height x width x depth (cm): 80 x 65 x 75' missing in the German and Cs translations?
How can I ensure the paragraph appears correctly in all translations?
You have checked only first lines.
You can see the fault german translation in the file
jozsef-peresztegi-stahlrohr-sessel-paar1.German.jpg
in red - the text is in English, not in German.
The problem is however the translation process itself.
The paragraph "Dimensions ... " is missing completely in the origin (English), cf.

the red arrow shows where it should be.
Compare with En to Hu translation, which is correct, cf.

red framed.
If it would be present I could translate it.
Why it has disappeared after adding one new paragraph is also a question.

Thank you for the details. I will need to check and try troubleshoot there.
I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.
Hi Christopher,
It will take time:
1. I basically do not provide access to the production to externals.
2. So I will need to copy the actual production to development and then provide you with access - this takes time, but I will do this.
3. I would appreciate if you could give me meanwhile a tip for a workaround - I have modified several pages in this way, but the problem is only with this page.
regards
Alex
I do not have any other tips as I also do not know how this is happening. I will need to check the page and see how that section is created, so I can maybe get an idea.
Also that is very strange that the same sentence is not available as the original language for the other language.
I did not see such a thing before which is why I am curious to check myself.
What I can suggest for now is to install the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin and clone that page.
Then try to do the steps below for that page:
- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.
See if it works?
If not, I will wait for the login information of the copied website.
Hi Christopher,
I have added a space to "Dimensions" paragraph (the space was omitted in the appearance of both the original page as well as in translations).
The missing paragraph became visible.
Translation done w/o problems.
Everything OK.
I think we can discard this strange behaviour meanwhile.
By all means I will create an actual version in DEV website.
Thank you very much!

Alex
