This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with unwanted strings appearing in the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) even after removing them from the string translation.
Solution:
1) Ensure that the homepage or any page being translated is fully translated and marked complete (indicated by a pencil icon) before making updates to the original language page to prevent sync issues and reappearances of removed content.
2) To address the issue of unwanted strings in ATE:
- Visit WPML >> Translation Management >> Translation Jobs
- Delete the translation jobs for the Homepage
- Navigate to Pages >> All Pages
- Open the Homepage for editing in the original language
- Make minor changes to the page contents
- Save the changes
- Open the page translation for editing
3) Update all plugins to their latest versions after taking a full site backup, to ensure compatibility and functionality.
If these steps do not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
