Background of the issue:
When we have a non-default language page with a password, then when correct password are used, the page generate a 404 Not Found error page. For example our page, using Norwegian language as default, and English language as secondary, then viewing this page:

using the current password '2024' generate a 404 Not Found error page (try yourself!). But using the same page in default Norwegian language page, and the same password, there is no problem:

But if I first go into the Norwegian language page, using the current password, and then switch to English language, then there is also no problem.
Our web site is updated per today, the WordPress core, the Avada theme and the WPML plugins.
If I deactivate ALL plugins (including the WPML plugins), then this problem goes away using both the Avada theme and the standard Twenty Twenty four theme. But as soon as the WPML plugins are activated, this problem appear.
So I think there is a bug in the WPML plugins. Please help!
I am not able to replicate the problem on your developer site. I set up Norwegian language as default, English language as secondary. Made a Norwegian languge test page, translated it into English. And tested the English language page directly:

needing password "test" and there where no problems, seeing the page using the current password.
So, what do I do now, the same setup does not work with us?
Thanks for your update. Following these steps, please check if the issue persists in a minimal environment.
1- Deactivate all the plugins except WPML CMS.
2- Switch to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-one.
3- Create a new test page to reproduce the issue.
If the issue is gone, activate them one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue.
❌ Please backup your database before performing the above test ❌
If the issue happens in the minimal setup, I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
