Background of the issue:
For many months, I've been running into an ATE problem that keeps appearing, and that seems to have gotten worse after the recent ATE update. I often find that the translations of many other strings have disappeared from the ATE, even though I'm 100% sure those strings have not been adjusted. The amount of lost translations differs per post. It can range from 1% to even over 30% of all strings. It costs a lot of time to re-enter and save all lost translations. Automatic translation isn’t helping here, because that would cost lots of credits and I’d still have to manually check all strings, like I did the first time they were translated. So I’m finding myself copying and pasting translations from the site’s front end (where the previous translations are still visible) into the ATE. Over the course of a few months, this has taken many hours if not days.
Symptoms:
Previously saved translations disappear from ATE, even if the string in the source language has not been adjusted.
Questions:
Why are previously saved translations disappearing from ATE?
How can I prevent translations from disappearing in ATE?
Is there a way to recover lost translations without manually copying them from the front end?
Are there any known issues with the recent ATE update that could be causing this problem?

I’m sorry that you ran into trouble with this.
We are aware of this issue, and it will be fixed shortly in the next release of the WPML Advanced Translation Editor. As a temporary solution, you can switch to the previous version of the translation editor when you open a translation. I have attached the screenshot.
