This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unsure if a Twig template was used on their site and is concerned about how the WPML 4.8 update might affect it.
Solution:
We reviewed the site's code and confirmed that the client is using a standard language switcher, not a Twig template. Therefore, no action is necessary regarding the WPML update. We recommend creating a full website backup before proceeding with any updates. If this solution does not seem relevant or if it's outdated, or if it does not apply to your case, please check the related known issues, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, we encourage you to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to determine if the new version of WPML 4.8 will affect our site regarding changes to Twig templates. I built the website hidden link and do not recall using a Twig template during its development.

Symptoms:
I am unsure if a Twig template was used on our site.

Questions:
Can you verify if a Twig template has been used on our site?

Hi there.

From what I can see in the site's code, you are using a standard language switcher.

You can create a full website backup and then share the credentials in the private fields I am enabling below in case you want me to take a look at this.

Kind regards,

Hi Mihai,

Your answer confirms to me, that I did not use a twig template but a standard language switcher. I assume that there is no needed action to be taken in that case.

I will leave it as is, so the WPML update might not impact our site.

Can you confirm if ok?

Thanks for your help!
