I am reviewing all of this for you at the moment, however, I can confirm that WPML String Translation should not be deactivated as you would not be able to use the plugin to it's full potential without it.

In order to make sure everything is organized, please see below the break down of current issues.

1. The logo

The logo is being pulled via Title and Description, however, the translation is looking for an image which does not exist thus broken image shown

2. The services and team modules

Both of these issues display an issue of "broken media"

I will be escalating this further to our team for review and for next steps on how we can resolve it.

3. The Editor not working is due to the credits running out, I applied 5000 complimentary credits to test and that was the issue.

I'd recommend deactivating the "Translate everything" mode for now

I am escalating this issue to our developers team and will update you as soon as I have feedback.

For the broken images, I read from the documentation that it might be because I don't have WPML Media Translation plugin ?
Do you confirm I should download it ?

We can try using WPML media, do you intent on using different media items per language?

Also, when attempting to access the site now I am receiving an error 500, apart from creating a duplicator package to share with our developers no other changes were made from my side.

everyday, something is overwriting on my HTACCESS file.

There are few lines always added such as these ones that I had to delete :
.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

How to stop this ?

I dont intend to use different media. Always the same ones for each language

Thank you for updating me, that is one frustrating issue, but thankfully one that is known and quite easy to resolve.

Also, if you could re share the access with me (previous access was removed automatically by our system), I will go ahead and apply this fix for you so it's done for once and all and you don't have to deal with this again.

Additionally I have already created a duplicator pro package, once I am back in I can download and share it with our developers so we can also resolve the broken media issue you have been experiencing.

Appreciate your patience as you are experiencing these issues, and I am confident we will have them all resolved for you.

Hi there,

The code is in the Child theme.

One thing I noticed is that there is no .htaccess file generated, was it recently deleted?

I am moving forward with the broken images issue and will update you as soon as I have feedback.

Hi there,

We are currently working on the issue of the missing images.

The overall cause of this issue is happening because what is output on the front end does not correspond to what is in the database.

We find that the posts and translations are mixing up .jpg and .webp image sources.

---> This is most likely happening due to imagify, however, we were not able to reproduce the behavior on a local sandbox.

Reviewing the uploads folder we see that there are only the .webp versions available;

IF possible, could you please share with us the workflow used and how the images are uploaded/handled?

Also, as a possible workaround while we are working on this you can try this:

edit the original language home page
remove the existing thumbnail
Rre-inserted it via the media library
save the page and then re-translated it.

then—at least—everything in the database looks as expected
(even if the front end is still displaying the wrong URL.)

Hello,
there should be a htaccess on childtheme as well ? Could you please regenerate it if needed?

And concerning imagify, I just go to bulk optimization > optimize.
(check screenshots)
BTW: I saw a warn message from WPML saying 'New in WPML 4.8 - Automatic image and media detection
WPML can now automatically detect what types of texts (alt, caption, title) your images use. Enable this option to avoid duplicate fields in the translation editor and missing translations for your images. Enable it now'

Not sure if it should be activated or not.

What is concerning is that I exactly got the same issue in the past with WPML (please see first support thread). I got 500 errors because of htaccess overwritten + black images.
It was fixed but apparently not permanently

Hello, is it possible to fix it as soon as possible ? because I will have to do partnership in italian end of february and website must be visible on that date
