Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where changing a SKU causes the product to go into "Need modifications" and you're being charged for translations despite no significant content changes, this might be due to minor text alterations such as the removal of line breaks. These changes are treated as new content by the translation memory, requiring re-translation.
Solution:
We recommend enabling WordPress revisions to track changes more accurately, which might help in identifying unintentional text modifications like line breaks. It's important to ensure that the text sent for translation matches exactly with previous translations to avoid unnecessary charges. If the issue persists and you believe it should not, please check our related known issues and verify you have the latest versions of themes and plugins installed. please share URL to the backend where I can edit and see this text, as said I can not find and this would speed things up an avoid uncessery back and forth.

thanks, but never mind about that.

I managed to see it was translated before, and you should not be charged again, so I have escalated this further to our 2nd tier to check and debug.

I will update you when I have some news, note it may take a day or two.

Indeed it seems to be the case on all products ...

And I think that we have this problem since two months, because the last invoice was really huge compare as usual

thanks for your patience.

We checked further, and it seems to be some minor change to the category text, which needs to be re-translated as it is not exactly the same text. Maybe this was done by someone; for example here text was changed to remove line break (space), so when you re-translate product, it also needs to translate this text again.

Since when you re-translate product, issue is not happening anymore it means that it was actually change that trigger this, not some bug, as if it was bug it would repeat it self.

I also tried with some text and ACF field on new test site, and it works fine.

Hi Drazen,

I made a new test this morning, but I still thinking there is a bug

Please see this product, I only change stock, and it ask me again to translate the products whereas nothing is changed (you can see that this is the same text on right)

thanks.

I would advise enabling WordPress revision since it could be you / or someone is changing the look between visual / text and that is causing some linebreaks to be removed. We can see that if WordPress revision enabled.

Also, I am checking this product translation but I do not see being translated before from this domain, or related translation job. Do you maybe know when did you translate it before or from which domain or similar, so I can check old translating job.

Hello,

no, only that segment needs to be re-translated because the engine can not find the same in the translation memory; it needs to be exactly the same to match and be loaded from memory.

You can see in the image you shared where there is dotted translation that was translated automatically and charged because same was not find in the memory.
